Kalon Acquisition Corp. is a TSX Venture-listed Capital Pool Company (CPC), and trades with the stock symbol KAC.P

The Company, subsequent to successfully closing its IPO on the 29th June 2020, is now focused on the identification, analysis and evaluation of one and more businesses and assets with a view to complete a Qualifying Transaction.

It could do so by effecting a merger, asset acquisition, share purchase, share exchange, participation or interest purchase, combination, consolidation, reorganization or other similar business combination with any business.

Any proposed Qualifying Transaction must be accepted by the Exchange and in case of a Non-Arm’s Length Qualifying Transaction is also subject to Majority of the Minority Approval in accordance with the CPC Policy.

The CPC may raise additional funds in order to finance an acquisition.

Peter Shaerf

Director & Chairman

Peter Shaerf started in the industry 44 years ago. He has extensive experience in valuations and has performed such work for financial institutions and Government clients. Immediately prior to joining AMA Capital he was a co-founder of Poseidon Capital, a specialist maritime “boutique.” As a partner at AMA Capital he has continued developing relationships in the capital markets where he has worked primarily advising hedge funds and investors on a variety of maritime investments in both equity and distressed debt and is actively involved in transaction origination. Peter is a director of privately owned Interlink Maritime and has served on the boards of numerous publicly listed shipping companies , including MC Shipping ( NASDAQ) TBS International (NASDAQ) and General Maritime (NYSE) ; most recently having served as Deputy Chairman of Seaspan Corporation (NYSE). He is also a member of the American Bureau of Shipping and on the U.S. government MTSNAC shipbuilding and ship finance committee.

Mudit Paliwal

Director & CEO

Mudit Paliwal is a well known name in the Commodity & Shipping Industry and has held a number of C- Level positions for over a decade. He has setup and grown companies from small regional players and taken them global. These include Delta Corp Holdings Limited, UK where is currently the Chief Executiv, Norvic Shipping, a Canadian headquartered company, Caravel Shipping, Hong Kong & Panacore Investment. Prior to that he was with Noble Group (Listed on Singapore stock Exchange SGX) for almost 10 years where he was a member of the Senior Global management committee as Co-Head and Executive VP of their freight team with additional responsibility of investment management for the group’s shipping assets. Mudit was also involved in the Groups Ship management business where he was instrumental in expanding their subsidiary, Fleet Management Ltd which grew from 54 ships to 200 ships during his tenure. He is a graduate Marine Engineer, went out to sea and became a Chief Engineer at 26 years. He received an MBA from Lancaster University Management School, has an MSc in Mathematical Trading & Finance from CASS Business School, London and Corporate Strategy & Finance from INSEAD, France.

Robert Perri

Director

Robert Perri is the Chief Financial Officer at TMS Cardiff Gas since 2016. Previously he was the Director of Equity Research at AXIA Capital Markets (ACM) covering the transportation sector from 2015. Before ACM, Mr. Perri was the Chief Financial Officer of two US-listed international companies, Box Ships Inc. (NYSE: TEU), and Paragon Shipping Inc. (NASDAQ: PRGN), that specialize in the transportation of containers and drybulk vessels from 2010 until 2015. During 2011, Mr. Perri was instrumental in taking TEU public through an IPO on the New York Stock Exchange. Prior to that, Mr. Perri was the Vice President of Finance at a private shipping company that specializes in the global transportation of crude oil and refined oil products. Prior to entering shipping, he spent twelve years in equity research for several investment banks, including Prudential Securities and FAC Equities, covering various industries related to technology and IT services. Mr. Perri has a Masters of International Economics and Banking from Bocconi University in Milan and a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and Finance

Andrew Benjamin

CFO & Chief Commercial Officer

Mr. Andrew Benjamin, an Australian National and Singaporean Permanent Resident, has in excess of 25 years of International Dry Bulk Shipping experience, ranging from Technical Support/Major Ship Building Projects, Technical Ship Management and Commercial Shipping through Commercial Operations and Chartering functions. Most recently Andrew held the post of Commercial Director at Norvic Shipping Asia Pte Ltd, a Subsidiary of Norvic Maritime Holdings, Canada prior to that he held commercial shipping positions with Noble Group (Singapore), Caravel Shipping (Hong Kong), Bunge SA a well known Grain house (Geneva & Singapore) and BHP Billiton/BHP among the top Iron Ore Miners (The Hague and Melbourne).
